Taj Mahal and return to Dehli
I had set an alarm for 0500 just in case but I was woken up by the call to prayer at about 430am. We were up and ready in the lobby in good time. Ailsa was late! Her watch was 5 mins late.
The coach took us to the west gate parking area for the Taj Mahal. A golf buggy took us from the car park to the main entrance. We were given overshoes and some water. I took the water as I had been caught out by the heat the day before. The security was more vigorous. Again ladies on one side men on the other. We had been told not to take any bags. Shakeel had given us our tokens for the entry and we had been told not to lose them.
At the gate we watched the sun on the dome and watched the different colours. We had tickets to go into the main part. Had free time to wander around. Sat in the shade for a bit. Back on the golf carts, back on the bus and into the hotel for breakfast. We dropped our things back to the room and headed down. I enjoyed bacon and egg.
We had two hours before needing to put bags outside the door - 1045 and departing at 1100. Ailsa was late again.
The coach took us to a marble place. They showed us how they do it, they then moved us into the showroom for the sales pitch. Whilst it was very beautiful and there was obviously a lot of craftsmanship- it was very expensive. I might have liked a coaster but not at £300 for 6.
Lunch was back at the restaurant we had been to the day before. A set menu which meant I didn’t eat much. The ice cream seemed to have garlic in it.
After lunch we drove to Delhi from Agra using the motorway. At each toll stop there is a services. We stopped at one.
The round discs we have seen drying in the sun are cow dung and are used for fuel.
Back to the Suryaa. Again no drink offered on arrival. This time we couldn’t put drinks at meal time on the room - but the way the waiter enforced it wasn’t very helpful.
Our room was bigger but noisier.
