Dodgy belly..
A disturbed night with Rob not well and boisterous Spanish children. There was a Spanish youth group in the hotel - something like children into the sand. Kids from cities seeing the desert.
We got up early for breakfast intending to go out on the trip. But Rob wasn’t up to it. We stayed behind, he took some Imodium and slept for a few hours.
I got him up and about, we went and had latte in the bar. They gave us water and nuts. We walked around the pool when John turned up. We were going to give the lunch trip out a go.
The trip was a road journey along the gorge. Our first stop we were treated to a display from a falcon fighting off two buzzards. Plenty of stoop action.
We stopped at the top of the gorge but didn’t see what we were looking for. So we turned around and headed back to the hotel where we were having lunch.
The hotel for lunch was ok but they put the six veggie tagines into two which meant a bit of an option for sharing it all. They originally put the lamb one in front of Rob saying it was the veggie one! I thought it tasted nice. It was mutton not lamb.
We travelled out to the desert the other side of the town we were staying in. There we saw eagle owl chicks and their mum. Rob has to find a rock to hide behind twice. Poor thing. At least he was still smiling.
After we saw the chicks a local came down the hill and spoke to Maria. Apparently he knew where more birds were - just around the corner but of course we didn’t have the time. Not sure how genuine that would have been.
Back at the hotel we had time for a little bit of down time. A bit later I got the small bottle of white to share with Bonny. We chatted for a bit and then Rob did appear.
Evening meal was another buffet. A few more things to choose from. The fish was awful. Bony dried cardboard. Completely tasteless. At least we didnt have an issue over me using a wine glass.
