Chandigargh

Not too early a start. Breakfast and then meeting to leave at 0900.

Coach drive to Chandigarh. First services stop was to a really nice stop. Fans with water spray cooling things down. Toilets very nice. Second stop has a couple of fast food outlets - KFC and Burger King. KFC closed due to an electrical fault. Rob sat outside and had the more local fair.

The coach stopped at a lake which had been created by damming the spring and then a rose garden. A woman with a baby tried begging - said baby, money - I said yes they did cost a lot of money. The rose garden wasn’t that interesting so we got back on bus.

Ailsa asked me if I wanted to go to see some sculptures. I declined. I just didn’t have the energy.

At the hotel Shakeel said there was a market across the road - he meant shops. We did go on the fabric shop but the cotton appeared to cost three times what I was expecting. So we didn’t get any. It was too hot for wandering around so we went back to hotel. I had a quick swim, Rob sat with a book. He got bitten so we went to bar and sat with Peter and Elaine. John joined us later.

Evening meal and bed. We sat next to Tony and Maxine for EM.
