About the camp

This is a really exciting opportunity for developing something new amongst English regions. Our Scottish and Welsh comrades set the bar with their Celtic camps. Now its our turn to give that idea an extra dimension.

The SE/SW camp will see 500 Folk brought together from across southern England to camp together, learn from each other and to make friendships that may last a lifetime.

Talking to many leaders and activists, there has emerged, among some, a desire to tread a path between the “district” camp and the sometimes over centralized international camps of the recent past. So the inter-regional camp will try to build upon the method developed at the SE camp in 2008, i.e. a genuinely co-operative camp that develops from the skills and energies of the participants. The camp will be based upon “What can I do?” not “What can you do for me?”

It will be a challenge, but I believe it is one that the Folk always rises to!
